Card Pay Wallet. Arthur D. Andrea Jung Ronald D. Sugar Susan L. Woolard Jr. Jerry York. Hey amd Can you tell me why? For me Xpro3 does 2 big things.

Sure LCD implementation could be better but at least it's not fixed. I've been calling 2-way horizontal-only tilt screens stupid for some time. I have no idea why camera makers think we should be limited to only horizontal tilt.

At least they never tried to market it as a feature — we all know it's a limitation versus a 3-way or tilt-flip screen. But now that it's limited even further in the XP3, we're supposed to see it as a benefit to our shooting style?

I don't think so. Remember the Nikon Z7 and only the 1 card slot. It didn't happen because the XP2 eliminated most of the XP1's quirks. It even introduced a whole new sensor and processor and led the technology pack for a while. The X-Pro3 combines existing XT3 innards with some stunt design to create a lot of noise about not much of substance.

In many ways the X-Pro2 is still the better camera, after four years, which is a shame. The X-Pro 2 is the better camera? Maybe for neophobic people. You seem to have an agenda. Or are they if you include the tilt screen? X-Pro2 better? So yeah, for many it is the better camera. Sorry to disappoint. No no, I'm not disappointed at all. This is your evaluation. I don't mind the fixed OVF magnification, to be honest. On the X-Pro1 that I sold, the magnification was great for the 35mm lens yes.

A used one again. It will be the X-Pro2, but not because I don't like the new X-Pro3, but because I care for used and older cameras more than the new bling :. Fuji copped out by leaving a small display on the back. A very small window on the top that shows only frames left or current custom mode would be better. I bought Z6, FTZ and f4 for euros.

And Z6 is a lot of camera for it's price. I think Z series will be a great disturbance for the market especially to Sony's. Which Fuji could have done as well. Remember that this camera body style offers the rangefinder type viewfinder. Something unusual and interesting so all the dullards churn out and like each others hipster comments as per usual. These forums show there is an infinite supply of words so not to worry.

Though the word hipster is a bit worn out and jaded. If you look at the gear list of most of the dullards, they do not have a Fuji The waste of words is those who would never have bought this camera just spreading negativity, thinking they are so clever in doing so. It is this strange use of the word hipster whatever it means, but is obviously derisory, that is dull and uninspiring.

The camera has little to do with it. These camera companies are not obliged to produce the same camera forever and the ILC market is collapsing faster than the compact market. Compact owners have had contend with losing their brand of camera completely.

People who get in to a great state of angst over their particular camera going away are going to be in for a hard time over the next few years. Your title is incorrect. It does have a screen in sight. It is a tiny screen to display a Hipster faux film label. Here is a clue: if you accuse others of being "hipster" you are showing that it is you that is the poser, the one trying to fulfill an image and acting condescending towards others.

You're not doing anything except trying to make yourself look better by attacking a straw man Have you guys ever tried real cameras? Somewhere turned off with feedback on AF parallax through OVF and LCD limited tilt which should be somehow optional function , think these might be low points in sells of this camera.

I'm afraid that won't be the case. The X-Pro3's images are very good for APS-C but sensor performance hasn't improved so much that it can catch up to the relatively modern sensor in the D At any given exposure, the D's sensor will have the chance to capture 2. Same light per sq mm, 2. Sure enough, if you compare the noise levels of the X-Pro3 to the D 1 stop higher ie: being given half as much light , they're broadly comparable.

The lack of chroma noise in the FF images suggests some noise reduction is going on. The F1. Meanwhile the F2 lenses let the Fujifilm be much smaller than the D can get while still at least matching the Nikon up to F3. So it will be comparable in a lot of situations. But there's no substitute for sensor size when you push beyond the range in which they're equivalent. Those are the trade-offs of sensor size. I won't buy it - i use still my old 5D, A7 gear just saying, into Germany.

The X-Pro is the size it is because the OVF has to be far enough away from its lens mount to avoid having lenses block the view. The X can be much smaller because its lens doesn't protrude far from the body. I would prefer a version of this camera that eliminated the optical viewfinder altogether and secondly, had a tilt only OLED panel.

I could like with it as it is if only the X-T3 didn't give you the same output with better ergonomics and a much better price. After reading the review, it looks like the hybrid VF is having issues with parallax and this is further compounded with its AF system.

Not sure if the OVF mode would still be useful throughout any shooting situation without making some inconvenient adjustments to compensate for this shortcoming. Filmulation, perhaps you should check out the X-E series. The beauty of this camera is that it actually is designed to compete against the main competitor to all camera companies, the smartphone. This is designed to entice someone who wants more than their smartphone. And that is increasingly someone looking for a better and different experience.

I know a few younger people who really love this design. One actually uses film cameras in addition to her smartphone. Another shoots Sony, likes the output but doesn't like the experience. This camera is for someone who wants to enjoy the experience of using a camera. In a way this has been Fuji's appeal all along. They already did that with the Xpro2. OTOH, most of it's biggest fans seem not to have been interested in the Xpro2, and a lot of Xpro2 users are very disappointed with the Xpro3.

They basically took a great camera, removed some controls, and made it harder to use. And yes, it looks really retro hipster with that little film window on the back of the part-time LCD. Me, I'm more interested in a camera I can use daily. No it is not. It is larger, more complex to use, cannot be used with a screen in a handy manner and cannot d any fancy manipulation.

This camera has nothing to do with smartphones. If you just offer a more traditional mirrorless to smartphone users, on the basis of better IQ and more fancy photographic features, they will continue to do what they already are: say not interested, my smartphone is good enough but easier to use and carry. And talking about screens, all smartphones have far better screens than any mirrorless.

But this camera offers a different type of experience and feel, and for some that will have appeal. It's always been hit or miss though. Like up until the X-T1, all other Fuji X cameras had lousy ergonomics. I still have an X20 and love the camera to bits for its simplicity, and for being the last compact camera with a truly good OVF.

I loved my X-Pro 1 and X20 because they were very simple and intuitive cameras to operate. But the way the buttons are placed, and the feel of the buttons for example, aren't well thought out.

It's a shame because Fuji is the only brand that lets you set an AF-On button and still use the shutter button to focus. Then with the X-Pro 2, they forced everyone into using Auto ISO or the physical dial rather than simply letting turn one of the command dials. I swear, sometimes Fuji is being different for the sake of being different. Thoughts R Us This makes is not an easy step from a smartphone, not even from a compact camera.

Some hipster smartphone user might look at it and buy it to "be different". Most smartphone users will find it too complex, big and user unfriendly to be interested to carry one around. Let's face it, somebody and of course I am generalising too much who likes photography per se has a camera and uses a smartphone when photography does not matter. People who just what to snap away, post or need just a quick memory like it was with instant cameras in the past will stick to smartphones or something as simple to use with no need to postprocessing.

Fuji is forcing us to only take black photographs. Fuji won't let us take photographs unless we manually remove the lens cap!!! We've taken a look back at our year of Instagram posts to the DPReview account and compiled the 10 most popular cameras of , based on most 'likes' to a single post.

Dale's favorite camera this year is one of the most interesting and distinctive mirrorless ILCs on the market - the ultra-traditional, rangefinder-styled Fujifilm X-Pro 3. Here's a look at the differences between the two models — and what they mean for the user.

Thanks Fuji for giving us this masterpiece. Goodmeme Lol. There's something in the fog. Great cornball movie. LynnwoodRick Form factor - I don't see many comments about form factor, other than appearance, but for me, form factor is the main reason I sold my XT-2 and went for the Xpro3. Rotherfield A few more thoughts on the above one week on: Let me stress the X-Pro3 is a wonderful camera.

How many units have problems? Threaded When I first saw firm info on the XP3 and its "interesting" design, my first reaction was to sell my tired old X-Pro2 on while it was still holding value and invest in an XT3, since I wanted the improvements in the newer cameras but it was clear to me the X-Pro series wasn't the way forward for me anymore.

Great camera. ARB1 Like my film days, I really like that this camera would get me back into focusing more on my shot, my setting and the conditions and not always checking the LCD for immediate results. Thoughts R Us I applaud Fuji for being brave and different enough to introduce a camera that is designed to add a bit of fun and enjoyment to one's photography.

Les Lammers This a sharp stick in Leica's eye. I may get one in a year or so. Warwick Cairns The XPro 3's biggest point of difference is in psychology and behavioural economics, rather than technology.

DarnGoodPhotos Very astute observation. Crypt Keeper "living in the moment, not a camera in sight". Rotherfield How many moments of delight have passed me by because I was staring at it through a viewfinder? Leicalika plus one must remember the secret X code to do so.

Thoughts R Us More and more the camera market will only be populated by people like you, who do it for more than just taking pictures Here Fuji will have an advantage, as will other brands such as Leica. Thoughts R Us What if someone prefers a rangefinder style body? Ivar Dahl Larsen This review is a very diplomatic one, but clearly says that there is probably a viewfinder where Fuji went wrong as I interpret itThen we are left only with the flip down screen.

All with the insides of the highly praised X T3. All in all, a very nice camera. Mateus1 all in all overpriced and disspointing in a few serious areas, not exciting at all with this OVF.
